“I got more than I bargained for working with Rodney during my two times entrusting him with my creative vision. And I mean that in a good way. I never saw anyone hustle harder than Rodney. He shot from the crack of dawn to dusk, non-stop. Rodney commands a set like a movie director: He is authoritative, gives strong direction, and has a strong opinion – adding tremendous value on both shoots. I shot with him both in LA and in London. International shoots can be a nightmare, but this one went off without a hitch. We shot the old fashioned way. We went for a week: Scouted all locations, cast, and then came back a week later to execute. It was seamless. And to keep us within budget, which had no give whatsoever, Rodney partnered with a local production team who knew the city and all of the obstacles.
I would say that when you hire Rodney, you not only hire a talented photographer, but you also hire an executive producer. His attention to detail in all aspects of the shoot is complete. And he’s great with the clients as well. In LA, one very senior client was there for the first of 16 set-ups and left after 2 hours, telling us that he was very comfortable leaving his shoot in Rodney's hands. And he had committed a tremendous amount of money to this two week shoot – quite an endorsement.”
